According to some 10 thousands samples in a few days of early September 1997, about 63% uses Netscape and 30% Internet Explorer, while someone uses Lynx, WWWC, Cyberdog and even "sharp pda browser" (probably with new Power Zaurus). Agent log stat shows more than 400 agent names with difference of minor version number and platform （3/4 is Windows and a fifth is Mac), as well as proxy name. This might help what kind of browser you must have in mind when you write your HTML with device independent manner.

ブラウザはNetscapeが63%、IEが30%を占めていますが、Lynxを使っている人やそのほかいろいろです。NSやIEもバージョンは様々で、version 1を使っている方も見受けられます。OSでは約3/4がWindows（NT含む）、2割弱がマッキントッシュ、UNIXやOS/2、PDAなどその他が5%強でした。機種に依存しないページづくりを心掛けなければ。
