| schema:description | "一見ではアサガオとは思えない花と葉を有する変化朝顔が幕末に流行したが、本資料はその図譜である。文化12年（1815）以降、多くの朝顔図譜が刊行されたが、そのなかで最高の出来といわれる。「花撰」は「歌仙」のもじりで、それに合わせて36品を載せた。撰者万花園主人は本名横山正名（1833－1908）、幕臣で陸軍奉行を勤め、維新後には趣味を活かして植木商となった。同じく園芸方面で著名な杏葉館が序文を記しているが、これは旗本の鍋島直孝（1809－60）である。服部雪斎（1807－？）は、幕末～明治前半で活躍した博物画家。本書はアサガオの奇品中の奇品を選んで、花銘と育成者の号を添えた。うち７品は撰者の万花園、２品は杏葉館の育成した品である。そのほか、著名な朝顔愛好家たちの育成品ばかりが並んでおり、現在は失われた黄花品も２点含まれている。花銘の記し方については、『朝かがみ』解題を参照されたい。当館には明治31年（1898）12月再版本（特１－2929）もある。(磯野直秀)...(more)" |
